We are looking for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager. The Assistant Warehouse Manager plays a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of a warehouse. They support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and ensuring that inventory is handled correctly. The Assistant Warehouse Manager assists the Warehouse Manager in overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. They are responsible for ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety within the warehouse, as well as supervising warehouse staff and maintaining accurate inventory records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Management:
- Assist in planning and organizing warehouse activities to ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor and optimize warehouse processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Oversee the use of warehouse equipment and ensure its proper maintenance.
- Implement and enforce warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping.
- Prepare shipping documents and ensure accurate labeling and packaging.
- Monitor shipping schedules and track shipments.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and requirements.
- Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and customers.
- 5 years of related experience in a supervisory role required
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize tasks
- Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in the warehouse
- Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with warehouse management software to log, track, and report data
