Your Role as a Hospice Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant :
- Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager, and receive supervision from the Registered Nurse or Clinical Supervisor.
- Support patients in maintaining good personal hygiene and comfort.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy environment.
- Prepare and serve light meals, and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Facilitate patient mobility, including walking assistance and the safe use of mobility aids like walkers or wheelchairs.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as changing linens and emptying trash.
- Assist with specific treatments as directed in the aide plan of care.
- Encourage patient engagement in activities of interest to promote mental alertness.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
- Monitor and report any changes in the patient’s condition to the nursing staff and interdisciplinary team.
- Help educate primary caregivers on basic care techniques.
- Implement infection control measures and adhere to standard precautions.
- Ensure accurate documentation of visits.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and quality improvement activities.
