What are the responsibilities and job description for the Treatment Specialist position at Gentle Barn Foundation?
The Gentle Barn Foundation is seeking an Animal Treatment Specialist. Reporting directly to the Natona Barn Manager, this highly responsible person will provide support with animal care.

Duties:
- Heal and rehabilitate new and existing animals
- Administer medications and supplements as needed
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Transport animals to veterinarian facilities as needed
- Schedule and monitor practitioners/veterinarians while they are with the animals
- Purchase and pick up feed and/or supplies as needed
- Maintain animal care documentation and photographic updates
The following is required for the ideal candidate:
- Vet tech experience
- Management experience
- Gentle and kind to animals and humans
- Strong belief that all animals should be treated with compassion and respect
- Must have large animal experience
- Must have horse experience
- Ability to exemplify both discretion and confidentiality
- Support the organization’s philosophy and have the ability to advocate our positions on issues professionally
- Must be able to work varying hours based on the needs of the organization
- Maintain a plant-based lifestyle while on property
