Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that meet the needs of both pets and their owners.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Handle animals safely and comfortably during grooming sessions, ensuring their well-being throughout the process.
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools and equipment, as well as the grooming area.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs and any observed health concerns.
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, building strong relationships based on trust and care.
- Assist with heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or multiple pets during busy periods.
- Stay updated on the latest grooming techniques and trends in animal care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of 2 or more years in pet grooming or related fields such as animal care or veterinary assistance is preferred.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage various temperaments in pets.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus, enhancing your ability to work with different breeds.
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment.
- A background in veterinary practices or as a veterinary technician/assistant is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care to all pets.
