What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vet Assistant/Technician position at Gentle Care Animal Hospital?
Gentle Care Animal Hospital is a small privately owned business in Edmond, OK. We are rewarding, fast-paced, and supportive in all areas, We are looking to find one more member to add to our amazing team.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant / Technician who can display the following skills:
-Exceptional Customer Service skills and friendly personality!
-Technological proficiency, including medical record documentation and medical computer system operations.
-IV catheter prep and placement
-Provide ICU patient care, charting, medication administration, fluid lines, and fluid pumps.
-Assistance with surgeries, to include patient care, patient prep, aftercare and setting up/breaking down of the surgery suite
-Assist in exam rooms including holding, restraining, and client education.
-Assist with the euthanasia process
-Perform/monitor dental procedures
-Perform all diagnostics such as radiographs, urinalysis, fecals, skin scrapings and blood work.
-Displays organization, attention to detail, and cleanliness skills
-Excels in communication, time management, multitasking, and problem solving.
Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. Be able to effectively communicate with other team members and Doctors and be able to do multiple task at once.
Shifts are 4 days a week, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM with one hour lunch as time permits. May have to stay late for appointments/emergencies on occasion. Staff will rotate Boarder medication on weekends
Requirements-
****Exceptional personality****
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with animals preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to lift and restrain animals of various sizes
