Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and document patient health status and changes in condition.
- Assist with medication administration as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals.
- Ensure adherence to resident rights and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health status.
- Experience or knowledge in social work practices is beneficial.
- Proficient in patient monitoring techniques to ensure safety.
- Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus.
- Understanding of resident rights and ethical caregiving practices.
- First aid certification is preferred for emergency situations.
- Ability to administer medications accurately and responsibly.
- Comprehensive patient care skills to address various needs effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Capability for heavy lifting as required during patient transfers.
