What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hiring Caregivers – Afternoon Shifts (Spanish Speaking Preferred) position at Gentlehands Home Care?
We are seeking dedicated Spanish-speaking caregivers for afternoon shifts to provide essential care and support to our clients.
Requirements:
- HCA # / PER ID # (Home Care Aide Registration)
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Vehicle insurance (for transporting clients)
- Current TB test (within the last 90 days)
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and meal assistance
- Encourage independence while providing support tailored to individual care plans
- Serve meals, assist with meal preparation, and ensure clients maintain a balanced diet and proper hydration
- Engage clients in activities, encourage socialization, and foster a supportive environment
- Maintain accurate records, including medication logs, activity participation, and health updates; report any physical or emotional changes to the supervisor
- Assist with medication management per state regulations and company policies
- Keep the living environment clean and organized, following housekeeping schedules for laundry, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas
- Respond promptly to emergencies and client requests for assistance
- Monitor client whereabouts, ensure sign-out procedures are followed, and report any concerns
- Work collaboratively with the care team to maintain a positive and professional work environment
Summary:
As a Caregiver, you will provide compassionate support to clients in home care, assisted living, and nursing facilities. Your role includes personal care, medication assistance, patient observation, and companionship. By maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, you will enhance clients' quality of life and overall well-being.
