Part-Time AI Engineer (LLMs & Workflow Automation) | Early-Stage Startup
Location: Remote (US-based)
Commitment: Part-time (~10-20 hrs/week)

About the company:
We are MIT & Harvard alums, and have recently raised our first round from top VCs.
We’re an early-stage startup building an AI-first ERP system, rethinking how businesses operate through automation and intelligent workflows. We’re looking for a highly capable AI Engineer to help us push the boundaries of LLMs, workflow automation, and structured data interaction. Working with two design partners and a few more on the way.
What You’ll Work On:
- Designing and implementing AI-driven workflows powered by LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- Integrating AI models with structured data from SQL databases to automate decision-making
- Exploring agent-based architectures for dynamic business logic execution
- Optimizing and fine-tuning LLM performance for real-world enterprise applications
- Collaborating with the founding team to prototype and deploy AI-powered features
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong software engineering background with experience in AI/ML, LLMs, or NLP
- Proficiency in Python (or TypeScript/Node.js with AI libraries like LangChain)
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Familiarity with structured data (SQL, Postgres) and ERP-like business logic
- Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of working independently and iterating quickly
Nice to Have:
- Experience with function calling, agentic AI, or multi-agent systems
- Understanding of workflow engines, event-driven systems, or AI-powered automation
- Exposure to enterprise software, SaaS, or ERP systems
- Previous startup experience or interest in building early-stage products
