Responsibilities
- Oversee the credentialing process for healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Verify qualifications, licenses, certifications, and work history of applicants to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the credentialing database and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate timely processing of applications and re-credentialing.
- Monitor expiration dates of licenses and certifications, initiating renewal processes as necessary.
- Respond to inquiries regarding credentialing status from internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards related to credentialing within the healthcare industry.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately assess credentials and qualifications.
- Experience working in a medical office, managed care, or behavioral health setting is preferred.
