Overview
The Credentialing Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that healthcare providers meet the necessary standards and qualifications to deliver quality care. This position involves managing the credentialing process for facilities and medical professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in a medical office or managed care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the credentialing process for healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
  • Verify qualifications, licenses, certifications, and work history of applicants to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in the credentialing database and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with various departments to facilitate timely processing of applications and re-credentialing.
  • Monitor expiration dates of licenses and certifications, initiating renewal processes as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding credentialing status from internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards related to credentialing within the healthcare industry.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately assess credentials and qualifications.
  • Experience working in a medical office, managed care, or behavioral health setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with credentialing standards and regulatory requirements within the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with healthcare providers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our services by ensuring that all providers are properly credentialed and compliant with industry standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
