Summary : The First-Article Inspector is responsible for inspecting the first piece of a manufacturing operation to the blueprint or other engineering documents.
Essential Functions :

Use various measurement tools such as CMM’s, Optical Comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc. to measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to customer drawing or in-process sketch specifications.
Review product manufacturing and quality records to verify completeness and acceptability.
Identify, segregate and document nonconforming material.
Assist
Manufacturing
personnel to ensure that all products and workmanship meet
respective standards

changes to processes based upon findings
