What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at Genuine Search Group?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing project and bid strategies. You will do so by analyzing project proposals and historical cost data. Ultimately, your work will help us develop new business opportunities.
Qualifications
BS or BA required, preferably in construction, management, engineering, or architecture
3 years of experience in Estimating, Construction Engineer / Project Engineer, or related duties in general contractor estimating and purchasing
Responsibilities
The role requires continuous support to the project team with updated cost information throughout the pre-construction phase of the projects
The Estimator will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, necessitating strong organizational and multitasking skills
Key responsibilities include reviewing plans and architectural drawings, preparing quantity take-offs specifically for healthcare industry projects, and ensuring a thorough review of all plans and drawings
The Estimator will identify any omitted items and ensure they are accounted for in the overall estimate package
The role requires obtaining 3-5 bids for each trade and supplier group, reviewing and analyzing these bids for compliance with project specifications, and discussing any questions with subcontractors
