We are partnered with a growing manufacturing company for their Sr. Cost Accountant opportunity.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for performing cost analyses and manage cost information to maximize profitability for this company.
EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED OR PREFERRED
- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cost Account, Cost Analyst or Accountant.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience working with ERP system, Epicor a plus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Collect cost information and maintain an expenses database.
- Construct data accumulation systems.
- Determine and monitor fixed costs to align with the projected budget.
- Plan and record variable costs.
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
- Assist in the preparation of budget reports for the company and each department.
- Assist with analyzing and reporting profit margins.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cost forecasts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing.
- Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods and services provided to determine effects on cost.
