The Security and Crisis Management Project Manager is a senior-level role responsible for evaluating, designing, and overseeing the implementation of security measures and protocols to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, and customers at facilities. This position also safeguards property and assets in alignment with established strategies, policies, and standards.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management and analytical skills, with proven expertise in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities across an enterprise. The role requires close collaboration with administration, public safety departments, emergency management offices, and other stakeholders to research, develop, and implement an integrated Security Protocol and Crisis Management Plan.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and administer security programs to ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and assets.
- Assess and address security vulnerabilities by designing and implementing effective remediation plans.
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to maintain compliance with relevant security directives and respond to events.
- Oversee the development of training programs on security policies, crisis response, workplace violence, evacuation, and emergency preparedness.
- Lead cross-functional teams and facilitate collaboration with various internal and external entities.
- Conduct security clearance investigations and analyze building security systems and protocols.
- Create and manage a comprehensive Crisis Management Program for large-scale operations, ensuring readiness across multiple facilities and employee bases.
- Design and execute security initiatives for risk management, investigations, event security, and iSOC (integrated Security Operations Center) performance.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 7–10 years of experience managing security and/or crisis management projects in the public or private sector.
- Previous experience with law enforcement or security leadership (25 years preferred).
Certifications:
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP).
- Security Specialist Certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, APP) and/or Crisis Management Certification (e.g., CME, CMCS).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in Project Management or Public Security is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficient in evaluating security systems and coordinating security clearance processes.
- Familiarity with local, state, federal, and international security directives.
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs tailored to employee preparedness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
