2nd Shift Production Lab Technician

Role Overview

Genus PLC - ABS Global has an exciting opportunity! We are looking for a Production Lab Technician to oversee production operations, including assembly, processing and/or packaging. The position is located in our Windsor Lab. The Production Lab Technician has primary accountability for operating production equipment for processing cell sexing technology. This position is on 2nd Shift and starting pay is $23.00/hr. 

You Will

• Maintain production operations of assigned cell sexing workstation. 
• Learn other ancillary processes throughout the production lab as business needs necessitate, such as but not limited to: 

• Fhil 

• Centrifuge/tubes table 

• Sample making 

• Dish room 

• Incoming quality control 

• Entry-level position with limited prior training or relevant work experience. 

• Apply basic technical skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization. 

• Work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. 

• Develop technical skills to perform basic activities in own job. 

• Understand how the assigned duties integrate with others in the team. 

• Has no supervisory responsibilities. 

• Use communication skills and common courtesy. 

• Troubleshoot issues that arise. Communicate issues with appropriate personnel (Leads, Supervisors, Managers, or Support Group). 

• Provide ideas for improvement in the work environment (relentless improvement and/or RIB cards). 

• Support lab documentation. 

• Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. 

• Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.  

• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision. 

• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours. 

• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (required): 

• Must possess High School diploma or equivalent. 

• Must possess a valid driver’s license. 

• Ability to list/transfer 45 lbs. frequently. 

• Strong attention to detail and focus on maintaining the highest level of quality at all times. 

• Ability to perform basic math skills. 

• Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse to accomplish work tasks (includes but is not limited to the ability to look at computer monitor screens for the entirety of assigned shift) 

• Ability to work well within a team environment. 

• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience within a production laboratory setting is preferred. 

Working Conditions: 

• Stand for long periods of time
• Monitor equipment and computer for long periods of time
• Exposure to chemicals occasionally (PPE is provided) 

1st Shift: 6:00a - 2:30p  $21.00/hr

2nd Shift: 2:00p - 10:30p  $23.00/hr

3rd Shift: 10:00p - 6:30a  $24.00/hr
