Shared Services Accounting Intern

Role Overview

ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for an Accounting Intern to support Genus North America Accounting operations. The position is located Deforest, Wisconsin with opportunities for hybrid work. The Accounting Intern has primary accountability for assisting with monthly financial close operations, preparing journal entries, and performing detailed account analysis. The successful candidate will be pursuing a degree in Accounting and possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

This position works 40 hours per week; Monday – Friday during normal office hours as determined during the offer process with the hiring manager. The intern will be on-site initially with opportunities for hybrid later on based on individual performance.  

The hourly compensation range for this position is ($18 - $20) USD. The compensation provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Will

• Gain an understanding of the ABS & PIC North America accounting operations.
• Assist with monthly financial close operations by preparing journal entries.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and detailed account analysis.
• Participate in monthly close meetings with business leaders to review monthly business performance.
• Develop technical skills in applications such as Microsoft Dynamics, TM1, and PowerBI.
• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision.
• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated and not afraid to ask questions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Available for 12 weeks during the summer.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial close operations.
• Certification in accounting software tools (preferred).
