Summary
The Construction Inspection Group Leader will cover construction inspection projects and lead a group of experienced Construction Inspectors.
Responsibilities
- Schedule inspectors for various projects.
- Review of Construction Inspection team daily reports.
- Train Construction Inspection team on project requirements.
- Coordinate with client representatives.
- Coordinate with the Construction Materials Testing team when CMT support is required.
- Coordinate with the Geotechnical Engineering Team when technical support is required.
- Help establish financial goals for the Construction Inspection Department.
- Participate in Client Development activities.
Formal Education, Licenses and Certifications
- High school diploma required, associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector through Envirocert or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Certifications in American Concrete Institute (ACI), ICC or MCA are preferred but not required.
- ODOT soil, aggregate, concrete, and pavement certifications, or ability to obtain upon hire.
Knowledge And Experience
- 5-10 years' experience in the construction industry as an inspector on construction projects
- Experience working on municipal or governmental construction projects.
- ODOT or Local Agency construction experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of standard specifications for infrastructure construction.

- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
- Ability to interact with contractors, clients, and staff in a professional manner.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplications, and divisions accurately.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to problem solve.

Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
