Responsibilities
We need your help to ensure that our inmates have a successful transition back into society. Typical responsibilities include:
- Providing general classroom guidance for career planning, social adjustment, life skills, and personal management.
- Defining terminology and identifying community resources to explain the reality of pre-release activities and plans to inmates and detainees.
- Reviewing curriculums and resources available to enhance inmates' and detainees' participation in pre-release/life skill programs and activities.
- Assessing inmates' and detainees' needs and referring them to appropriate staff.
- Helping inmates and detainees in planning and developing an individual post-release plan and encouraging them to assume the responsibility for post-release behaviors and activities.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area preferred.
- Relevant teaching and/or counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred.
- Appropriate valid teaching certification if required by the client agency.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
We would prefer someone with a Bachelor's degree in a related area as well as relevant teaching and/or counseling experience in a correctional setting.
Physical Requirements
- In this position you will sit a lot, however you might occasionally have to: lift or carry up to 10 lbs.; Push or pull up to 40 lbs.; bend, stoop, walk, stand, reach above shoulder level, and work with machinery.
