Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Maintenance Planner at GEO Specialty Chemicals, Inc. located in Deer Park, TX. The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. This role involves working closely with the Production Supervisor, and MRO Coordinator to ensure the proper execution of maintenance tasks, and optimization of the maintenance workflow. The Planner & Scheduler will leverage the CMMS to track, schedule, and report on maintenance activities and their effectiveness.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- Coordinate with Production Supervisor to prioritize and plan both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure that all planned work orders are properly scoped, estimated, and assigned with clear job steps, resources, and timelines.
CMMS Management:
- Serve as the primary user and administrator for the CMMS to manage work orders, equipment history, and maintenance records.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of CMMS data, including updating equipment records, maintenance logs, and parts inventory.
Spare Parts and Materials Coordination:
- Collaborate with the MRO Coordinator to ensure availability of required parts and materials for scheduled maintenance activities.
- Prepare job kits with necessary parts, materials, tools, and safety equipment for maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate and maintain documentation for preventive maintenance, corrective actions, work order completion, and equipment reliability.
- Report on key data for maintenance metrics, including PM compliance, work order backlog, and equipment downtime.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of experience in maintenance planning and/or turnaround planning in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software (e.g., Dynastar, SAP PM) for work order management and maintenance planning.
Desired Characteristics:
- Associate degree or technical certification in maintenance planning-scheduling or a related field are highly valued and considered for this role.
- Millwright experience is highly valued, as it brings critical hands-on expertise to the maintenance planning process.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Planner and/or Turnaround Planner is strongly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and workloads.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
Salary : $35 - $55
