About the Role:
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of our transportation team, ensuring seamless customer service and efficient logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor service calls to evaluate employee performance, technical accuracy, and adherence to company policies.
- Recommend corrective actions to address customer complaints and issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for critical customer matters.
- Elevate operational concerns to management when necessary.
- Collaborate with FAP on invoice resolution and carrier escalation.
- Prepare monthly revenue accrual reports for management.
- Develop and implement work procedures, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are accurate and up-to-date.
- Create and manage work schedules for non-exempt team members.
- Support planners during contingencies by securing trucks for multiple customers while maintaining cost-effectiveness and adhering to business rules.
- Work closely with the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of freight bills.
- Audit all invoices and assist the central billing team with discrepancy investigations.
- Follow up with carriers to ensure prompt receipt of invoices.
- Maintain customer requirements for load planning and routing compliance.
- Establish cross-training initiatives within the team.
- Assist management with team member performance evaluations, discipline, and goal setting.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Work On:
- You will coordinate with FAP on invoice resolution and carrier escalation.
- You will prepare month-end close revenue accruals reports for managers.
- You will also prepare and work with the manager on customer QBRs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
- Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year managing direct reports.
- Experience with transportation management systems.
- Optimization tools experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Capacity to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills to present information to groups of managers, customers, and colleagues.
- Problem-solving abilities to address practical issues in situations with limited standardization.
- Interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
