Responsibilities:
The Construction Manager-Electrical Engineer will:
- Quickly understand and master local, state, and federal jurisdiction requirements, considering project-specific needs.
- Review design and construction plans against existing site conditions.
- Resolve unforeseen site and design conditions/problems, proposing cost-effective technical solutions.
- Conduct inspections and inventories of medical and administrative services structures to identify deficiencies and assess physical condition.
Qualifications:
The Construction Manager-Electrical Engineer must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience practicing electrical engineering.
- Minimum 6 years of experience inspecting electrical construction.
- Strong communication, language, and software skills, with proficiency in various software programs.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
The Construction Manager-Electrical Engineer must have the following:
- Knowledge of commercial hospital electrical construction, including underground installation, high and low voltage power distribution, emergency generators, grounding, and lightning protection.
- Familiarity with electrical systems in central utility plants and energy facilities.
- Understanding of low voltage systems (fire alarm, telecommunication, data distribution, nurse call, etc.).
- Ability to provide cost estimates and take-offs for contract modifications.
- Proficiency in reading schedules, budgets, and assisting with document control.
- Ensure compliance with testing and safety standards.
- Evaluate workmanship, materials, and equipment against contract requirements and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of building, safety, and environmental codes.
- Familiarity with environmental, civil, safety, architectural, and structural fields.
- Understanding of governmental contracting procedures, principles, guidelines, and public law.
Communication, Language, and Software Skills:
- Proficient in using various software programs for monitoring, updating, and producing work products.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Education:
The Construction Manager-Electrical Engineer shall possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or construction management from an ABET accredited institution of higher learning or licensed to practice in the United States. The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
Additional consideration will be given for the Construction Manager-Electrical Engineer who possesses a current professional engineering license registration and maintenance of same throughout tenure.
Salary: $110K-$125K per year commensurate with education, experience and licensure
