About the Job
General Purpose :
The Trademark Docketing Specialist assists attorneys specialists paralegals and other team members in the Trademark group with docketing functions data entry updating existing records tracking and following up on deadlines reporting and client record onboarding.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities :
Review and process a large volume of emails mailings correspondence and pleadings related to trademark matters from USPTO clients foreign counsel and other foreign trademark offices.
Maintain the docket for the trademark attorneys cases using a webbased docketing system.
Scan and save hard and soft copy documents following the firms naming convention to the appropriate client / matter folder and forward them to the correct legal team.
Report document(s) received and deadline(s) docketed to the responsible parties (attorney / paralegal / IPS / secretary) in accordance with docketing department standards.
Prepare and distribute monthly weekly and final deadline docket reports reflecting upcoming due dates and reminders for each attorney / client team regarding important prosecution deadlines.
Keep a thorough record of all docketed items to address any questions regarding specific deadlines and / or methods used.
Coordinate with attorneys concerning law changes and local rules that govern the calculation of outofstate docketing deadlines to ensure the accuracy of all docketed dates.
Assist with other docketingrelated duties reports and special projects as necessary.

Job Qualifications (Education Experience and Certification) :
A minimum of three years of trademark docketing experience is required.
Proficiency in WebTMS PATTSY Wave and / or other docketing software is required.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
Prior knowledge of the US and foreign trademark prosecution process and an understanding of relevant documents is strongly preferred.
Experience and ability to interface with USPTO WIPO and other websites regarding trademark matters.
Expertise in preparing accurate highly detailed work; excellent proofreading skills are essential.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
Requires the ability and soft skills to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels of seniority within the firm.
Aptitude for understanding a variety of databases and software is important.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this position the employee must have the ability to sit stand and / or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift carry move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; perform repetitive wrist hand and finger movements to work on a computer and / or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely for better understanding; and regularly comprehend the speech of another person.
