Summary:
Oversees the estimating process for mechanical/industrial projects, managing a team, analyzing project plans, determining costs, and ensuring accurate, profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor estimators, assign projects, and review work.
- Project Analysis: Assess plans, specifications, and risks.
- Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and subcontractors.
- Bid Preparation: Assemble bid packages with schedules and proposals.
- Subcontractor Management: Obtain competitive pricing and ensure scope accuracy.
- Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Profit Analysis: Set margins based on project complexity and market factors.
- Client Interaction: Present bids and address client concerns.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential project risks.
Qualifications:
- Expertise: Mechanical/industrial construction methods, materials, and standards.
- Software: Proficiency in FastPipe estimating software.
- Leadership: Experience managing estimators and projects.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to interpret project documents and interact with stakeholders effectively.
- Education & Experience: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience, with a strong background in estimating large-scale projects.
