Job Title: Software Manager (AutoCAD)

Compensation: Starting pay is $80,000 per year, with the final salary determined based on experience, qualifications, and industry expertise.

Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software and CAD Systems Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in AutoCAD who is looking to expand into the IT space. The primary responsibility will be to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and performance of software systems company-wide, with a particular focus on AutoCAD. This individual will ensure that all software is up to date, properly integrated across multiple sites, and functioning effectively. They will also be responsible for maintaining file organization and access within company servers, collaborating closely with both engineering and IT departments. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about CAD who wants to bridge the gap between design tools and technology infrastructure.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and maintain AutoCAD Civil 3D standards, including templates, layers, and mobile data collection workflows.
• Design and program automation applications using AutoLISP to streamline AutoCAD processes.
• Create and conduct engaging training sessions, including recorded tutorials, to educate staff on best practices and innovative workflows.
• Lead the integration of AutoLISP, AI, generative design, and mobile technology into AutoCAD Civil 3D workflows to enhance project efficiency.
• Ensure quality control by implementing and maintaining high standards in design practices through advanced technologies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate evolving business and technological requirements into design workflows.
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to drive continuous innovation in design and drafting processes.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to ensure employees develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effectively.
• Oversee daily operations, set performance expectations, and foster a productive work environment to achieve team goals.
• Oversee other software programs and ensure software is up to date.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience: Extensive experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoLISP programming, mobile data collection, and automation workflows.
• Expertise in AutoCAD customization and standardization.
• Strong proficiency in AutoLISP programming and automation development.
• Knowledge of mobile technology integration and generative design processes.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
• Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities to drive innovation.
• Strong data analysis and project management capabilities.  

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities. 
• Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights. 
• Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed. 
• Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks. 
• Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas. 
• Experience moderate levels of noise indoors or outdoors. 
• Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required. 
• Ability to thrive in both team-oriented settings and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative. 
• Some travel may be required.
