Position description
The Director of Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy (the Director) leads GoodWeave International’s charitable fundraising, and associated communications and advocacy work. Working closely with the CEO, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of donor cultivation and stewardship, with a focus on securing resources from foundations and government sources to resource GoodWeave’s $4 million budget. The Director supervises a Digital Communications and Fundraising manager, is part of the Management Team (MT) and reports directly to the CEO. With the MT, the Director is responsible for executing the organization’s strategy in line with its purpose and mission.
The Director plays a key role in fundraising, by building relationships with private and public donors and leading grant proposal development, submission, and reporting. They also lead external communications and advocacy initiatives and best-practice sharing that accelerate impact for children and workers in global supply chains and vulnerable communities, as well as contribute to the timely and effective implementation of advocacy-specific aspects of existing projects.
The Director acts as a spokesperson on behalf of the organization, sharing impact stories and thought leadership with different audiences in relevant fora and industry events to boost GoodWeave’s profile within the philanthropic, business, and policy communities. They also identify and seize opportunities for expanding GoodWeave’s reach and impact through strategic partnerships with other like-minded, complementary organizations.

Responsibilities include :
Fundraising
- Develop yearly revenue projections and goals for the development team in partnership with the CEO and CFO;
- Create and execute an annual fundraising plan to achieve revenue goals, with fundraising objectives, evaluation criteria, and program budgets;
- Strengthen relationships with current donors and build a pipeline of new donors (government agencies, private foundations, large NGOs and IGOs);
- Lead the preparation of strong, timely and accurate proposals that meet the organization’s goals and strategic priorities, including proposal writing, editing, submitting and following up, with direct responsibility for generating upwards of $2 million annually;
- In coordination with the Director of Business Development and Marketing, advise on and help develop revenue generation opportunities with licensees and other business partners;
- Support the Digital Communications and Fundraising Manager to deliver successful individual fundraising campaigns including direct-mail and e-appeals;
- Plan special events and fundraising efforts with support from the Digital Communications and Fundraising Manager– such as managing donor briefings and other events that could raise funds and awareness for GoodWeave.

Qualifications
Experience submitting proposals to the US Government (e.g. Department of Labor, Department of State, USAID) and UK Government (e.g. Home Office, FCDO) is a strong asset.
Experience working with the US, UK, Dutch, German, and EU development agencies and with private foundations focused on worker rights and just transition is a strong asset
