What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced CNC Machinist position at Geoprobe Systems®?
The Geoprobe® CNC Machinist works with a team to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while placing a high priority on maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Successful candidates will be team players, mechanical with strong hands-on skills, committed to high -quality work, comfortable working with blueprints, strong in math, and team oriented.

Job Responsibilities- Plans and executes machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, machining parameters and tolerances
- Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Sets-up mills and lathes.
- Loads material feeders by lifting stock into position
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards
- Maintains specifications, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Maintains safe operations. adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintains equipment, completing preventive maintenance requirements
- Documents actions, completing production and quality logs
- Accepts ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Training- On the floor training
- High School education or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
- Machining & CNC programming experience required; ability to read and write Gcode, CAM experience will be an asset
- Experience using precision measurement tools
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Good at math with analytical abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
- Hands-on with strong mechanical abilities
- Possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail
- Strong communication skills -relates well to all kinds of people
- Learns quickly when facing new problems, open to change, quickly grasps issues to solve
