What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward, Dishwasher position at Geordie's at the Wrigley Mansion?
The role of Steward/Dishwasher is directly responsible for maintaining an organized and clean dish area, receiving and stocking orders, proper waste removal and general cleanliness of the kitchen.
*Full time, Tuesday to Saturday with hours typically between 3pm - closing. Flexibility for event days and times are appreciated.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Self motivated to finish daily check lists quickly and efficiently.
- Load and unload dishwashing machines
- Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate flat and silverware)
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary
- Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issue
- Sort, remove and dispose trash regularly
- Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
- Monitor chemical levels per the Arizona Health Department and proper maintenance on all machinery
- Assist the kitchen team with receiving daily orders and stocking items in the proper areas
- Conducting line sweeps and proper standards of cleaning the floors
- Power wash each waste bin weekly or as needed.
- Maintain proper uniform requirements and personal hygiene.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience in hospitality or in working in fast-paced, high volume fine dining is preferred.
- Must be self-driven, accountable and dependable.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience of relevant work experience preferred.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with Chef, all managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Maintains a dependable work attendance record.
