What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at Georg Fischer?
Your tasks
- The Process Engineer is responsible for the scientific development of process functions, starting from the introduction of materials into the injection molding machine. This includes optimizing settings, procedures, testing, and other factors to ensure stable processes and consistent product quality.
- Process Development : Develop, implement, and optimize injection molding and extrusion processes, ensuring that raw materials are properly introduced into the machines and all operational parameters are effectively set.
- Scientific Molding Techniques : Apply scientific molding methods to improve the consistency, efficiency, and quality of the production processes.
- Process Optimization : Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine-tune production processes to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and enhance overall process efficiency. Includes some process automation programming and troubleshooting.
- Quality Control : Work with the quality team to establish and maintain process controls, ensuring the final products meet all relevant quality standards.
- Testing and Analysis : Conduct process testing, gather data, and analyze results to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Troubleshooting and Support : Provide technical support for production teams, assisting with troubleshooting issues related to the molding and / or extrusion processes.
- Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for process setups, changes, and improvements. Ensure all processes and procedures are well-documented and compliant with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, maintenance, and quality control, to ensure smooth production flow and resolve any process-related challenges.
- Training : Train and mentor production staff on proper operating procedures, best practices, and process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
