Position Summary:
Purchasing Manager is responsible for compiling information and records to create purchase orders for procurement of materials based on sales team request by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform buying duties when necessary.
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to sales employees originating request.
- Compare bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
- Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
- Verify shipments arrive correctly and that order meets specifications.
- Develop and construct cooperative relationships with customers, vendors, employees.
- Judgement and decision-making abilities with consideration to relative costs and benefits of product orders or vender selection.
- Analyzing demand patterns and forecasting future needs to avoid shortages or excesses.
- Maintain records of business transactions and product inventories, reporting data as requested by company.
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize costs, maintain quality, and reduce supply chain risks.
- All other duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or three to five years’ work experience in similar field and/or industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with budget management.
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers.
- A valid Driver’s License is required for this position.
