The GFY team is seeking a Structural Design Engineer who is interested in being part of an influential work environment. This position will primarily report to mid-level and senior structural engineers to assist with engineering and technical disciplines, including performing structural design and analysis of structures, interpreting design codes, completing structural construction documents, and construction observation. This position will work alongside experts in all civil engineering disciplines where mentorship plays a vital role in your professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Produce plans, specifications, and required deliverables on assigned projects on time and within budget
- Follow the supervisor’s lead on procedures, calculations, code requirements, and engineering practice
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project team
- Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Prepares design computations
- Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare structural engineering and design documents.
- Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
Experience and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will be a civil/structural engineer graduate. A Florida Engineer in Training License is preferred. Qualifications and abilities shall include the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Familiarity with the use of Revit is preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in the civil engineering industry
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
- Professional image and work ethics on interactions with peers, supervisors, and clients
