Foreman - Hardscapes
Hours: 7-5 p.m.; As directed by Job Superintendent to ensure planned and efficient workday. Saturdays may be required to meet job schedules.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, union
Job Location: Various jobsite as directed
Summary: Foremen work on different types of construction projects. Foreman’s work requires various skills and experience. Our foremen consistently perform as construction professionals by delivering quality work, being prompt, following all safety policies and procedures, and positively communicating to work safely, skillfully, and productively to help build work per plan. Responsibilities:
Igel is seeking a Foreman with specific experience in hardscape installation. A foreman with experience with brick pavers, constructing stone walls, granite curbing, precast benches, Unilock and Versalock systems, decorative brick saw cutting, and understanding of brick paver patterns and layout techniques will be preferred.
- Communicates with team about job expectations;Pre-plans and organizes schedule for work on jobsite;
- Handles confrontation and deescalates any potential problems that arise on a jobsite
- Communicates production goals and safety hazards effectively to field personnel;
- Represents the Company in a manner consistent with its mission, vision and values;
- Must have job skills as required by specific specialty ;Other duties as assigned.
- Recognizes how construction work impacts stormwater and soil erosion and work to reduce impacts on the environment;
- Knows, adheres, and enforces all company policies and procedures;
- Reports all safety and equipment incidents in accordance with Company policy to the appropriate 24-Hour Incident or 24-Hour Shop Lines;
- Works outside in all types of conditions;
- Technically proficient in Igel software (Plangrid, HeavyJob, Bluebeam, etc);
- Assists in planning the work, which includes providing back-up plans for unexpected changes;
This list is non-exhaustive. Job responsibilities may vary based on operational needs and the instructions of the jobsite foreman and superintendent. The work a Laborer may perform is within the scope of the agreement with the Laborers Union.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old;
- Must have reliable transportation;
- Standard First Aid/CPR certifications;
- Must be able to pass a drug test;
- OSHA 30-Hour Training Course completion;
- Ability to use electronic devices with basic computer skills.
