Project Intern
Reports to: Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager (George J. Igel & Co., Inc.)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless otherwise dictated; 45-50 hour / week
Job Location: In-office or job site as required, with no remote or hybrid work capabilities
The goal of our internship program is to have our Project Interns contribute to the effort of Jobsite planning, production, efficiencies, and safety. We hope our interns gain an understanding of the Commercial Construction Industry and acquire skills that will promote continued academic success.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Tracks project quantities;
- Collects, organizes, and maintains project documents;
- Gain an understanding of pay items;
- Understand and communicate production rates and crew of makeup of activities as a bid;
- Submits RFIs;
- Administers subcontracts;
- Administers purchase orders;
- Submits shop drawings;
- Propose priced changes;
- Submit and log submittals;
- Maintain and update project plans;
- Track and submit extra work items;
- Submit closeout documents;
- Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year degree program;
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening;
- Must have reliable transportation;
- Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company’s eligibility requirements.
