Summer Yard Technician

Reports to: Equipment Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Hours: Primarily M-F 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise dictated; 40-45-hour work week

Job Location: 2040 Alum Creek Drive Columbus, OH. 43207

General Overview: Assist Maintenance Department, maintain and track inventory of equipment brought into or taken out of Igel Yard on a daily basis. Help the Department keep yard organized and safe. Assist in loading and unloading shipments and deliveries in a safe and timely manner. Represent the Igel values of Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership. This is a seasonal position that will be offered for a summer term only.

Responsibilities:

• Operates forklift for safe transporting, loading and unloading material;
• Assists with the maintenance of warehouse and yard inventory in an efficient and orderly manner;
• Makes deliveries or pick up material or parts as needed;
• Assists the Facilities Department as necessary;
• Configures and integrates new inventory items into company systems, ensuring each item is properly labeled with a legible identification number upon return;
• Assign numbers to incoming inventory items;
• Maintains a clean and organized yard, including regularly emptying trash drums at fuel islands;
• Knows and adheres to all company policies and procedures;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be self-motivated, able to see needs and address them accordingly;
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is a BWC Drug-Free Workplace and tests for marijuana);
• Ability to perform medium-duty lifting and climb ladders unassisted;
• Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Companys eligibility.
