Summary of the position: The Mobile Medication Technician is responsible for care of assigned consumers under the direct supervision of the Mobile Medication Nursing Staff.

Description of Duty
Consumer Services
- Interact with consumers in a respectful manner that is appropriate for the situation.
- Participate in weekly team meetings.
- Provide in-home and/or follow-up support to consumers under the direction of the Mobile Medication Nursing Staff. Perform assigned interventions as identified in the comprehensive treatment plans to address physical and behavioral health needs using recovery tools and principles.
- Actively engage consumers and provide education about available recovery tools.
- Convey any physical health care needs of consumers to the Mobile Medication Nursing Staff, including coordination of appropriate referrals to primary care providers as directed.
- Review consumer progress in self administration of medication. Consult with treatment team to develop transition plans to traditional services as consumers complete treatment goals.
- Provide training to consumers regarding health and hygiene methods, infection control procedures, and signs and symptoms of illness.
- Have a working knowledge of psychotropic medications that consumers are prescribed. Know prescribed medications that consumers are taking as well as any possible side effects, dosages, and times medications are administered.
- Maintain current knowledge of all medication use by consumers for physical health issues.
Collaboration
- Actively collaborate with staff to provide necessary consumer information.
- Consult, network, and cooperate with community systems to facilitate linkage, referrals, crisis management, advocacy, and follow up with the focus on attaining treatment goals.
- Interact with clients and their supports along with non-agency personnel in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with and link consumers to other identified levels of care as transition from the program is designed by the treatment team.
Documentation and Records Management
- Document all consumer and collaborative contacts in a timely and professional manner as per clinical documentation policies.
- Maintain consumer files and program records ensuring that all required documents are in accordance with applicable standards and regulations at all times.
- Maintain all consumer data, outcomes and follow-up information accurately and update as required.
Compliance
- Ensure that all consumer records, correspondence and conversations regarding consumers remain confidential as required by HIPAA compliance mandates.
- Comply with all Mandated Reporting, Duty to Warn and Duty to Protect Laws in all professional work.
- Prepare for and participate in scheduled Quality Assurance Reviews of data, reports, consumer files, paperwork, checklists, etc.
- Participate in monitoring quality initiatives in the department.
- Ensure that incident reports are thoroughly completed and filed in a timely manner.
- Maintain expectations for average hours of face-to-face time per week and use of Consumer Recovery Library.
Coordination of Treatment
- Maintain regular contact with Mobile Medication Nursing Staff, returning all calls and e-mails in a timely manner and being available for regularly scheduled team meetings and supervision.
- Attend and actively participate in all scheduled professional trainings.
- Be available to consumers, outside agencies, and co-workers via cell phone and return all calls within a timely manner.
- Monitor all electronic communications throughout the day and respond accordingly. Ensure electronic communications reflect days off with instructions on whom to contact in your absence

REQUIREMENTS
Education
High School education or equivalent; candidates with mental health recovery experience strongly preferred

Minimum of:
- 1 year experience serving seriously mentally ill adults
Computer Experience
Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Act 33/34 clearances as provided by Child Protective Services Law 23 PA C.S. 16301 and FBI Clearances, Adam Walsh Act 147
- Valid Driver’s license.
