About the Position
This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The compensation package is competitive, and all international hires include support for relocation expenses (airfare and shipping allowance), furnished housing, annual leave travel allowance, dependent educational expenses, and health insurance in Koreas excellent health care system. We are looking for a candidate who can contribute teaching, mentoring, and programming in Global Affairs. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to Global Affairs core curriculum and the degree concentrations. They will maintain excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, participate in faculty governance, and demonstrate a willingness to engage in leadership at the university and in their fields of expertise.
Required Qualifications :
- Ph.D. in Anthropology, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Human Geography, Media Studies, or related fields
- Record of successful teaching
- Ability and commitment to teach introductory courses in Global Affairs and advanced courses in the following concentrations : Media, Communication, and Culture; Global Economy and Management; The Environment; International Development; and / or Global Governance.
- Commitment to working with students of diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrable potential for excellence in scholarship

The Program is an interdisciplinary program in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at George Mason University. The program has grown rapidly in the past several years with impressive academic and cultural diversity in the faculty and established a robust inter-departmental collaborative network for teaching and research.
