Job Overview:

George’s Family Restaurant is seeking a talented and motivated Chef to join our team! This role is perfect for a culinary professional who enjoys creating delicious specials, perfecting soups and sauces, managing kitchen operations, and occasionally working the line. The Chef will initially shadow our current chef to learn our kitchen flow, recipes, and expectations before taking full ownership of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Shadow & Learn: Work alongside our current chef to understand kitchen processes, recipes, and daily operations. * Menu Development: Create and execute innovative daily and weekly specials, including soups and signature sauces, while maintaining our classic flavors. * Ordering & Inventory: Manage ingredient sourcing, food ordering, and inventory control to ensure quality and cost efficiency. * Line Support: Assist on the line during peak hours to maintain speed and quality of service. * Kitchen Leadership: Maintain high food standards, cleanliness, and efficiency in daily operations. * Quality & Cost Control: Oversee portioning, food prep, and waste management to maintain consistency and profitability.

Qualifications:

*Proven experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or similar role in a full-service restaurant. *Strong knowledge of soups, sauces, and scratch cooking. *Experience with ordering, inventory control, and vendor management. *Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and step in on the line when necessary. *Leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality food.
