Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for prospecting new customers and retaining old customers. Manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Present and sell plumbing, heating products and related products to current and potential customers.
-Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
-Maintain margins and profitability according to the standards of the Director of Sales.
-Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
-Prepare quotes, proposals and orders for customers.
-Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
-Establish and maintain current customer and potential customer relationships.
-Identify and resolve customer concerns.
-Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity logs for the Director of Sales.
-Communicate new products, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to the Director of Sales.
-Coordinate with other branches to accomplish the work required to complete sales orders.
-Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce dead stock.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
-Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows.
-When needed follow-up for collection of payment.
-Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of product.
-Keep the credit department informed of circumstances regarding a customer’s credit worth.
-Expected to do some reasonable entertaining to keep old business and solicit new business.
-Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
-Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
-Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Knowledge of sales promotion techniques.
-Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
-Work requires significant local travel to current and potential customers. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license within 60 days of employment.
-Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional travel.
-Must have a good working knowledge of the plumbing and heating industry.
WORKING CONDITIONS
-Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
-Work requires significant local travel and may require the occasional overnight travel for training purposes.
-No nights and weekends
Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
