What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive BDC Manager position at George Wall Ford?
Position Summary:
The BDC Manager is responsible for implementing and following through on day-to-day activities of the BDC (Business Development Center) with the goal of maximizing internet generated showroom traffic in the New & Used Vehicle Departments, working hand-in-hand with Sales Management.
***Experience with our CRM, Focus (Reynolds & Reynolds), is preferred.
Compensation:
- Salary plus commission in range of $100-150k, dependent on prior experience (commission based on benchmarks to be discussed).

Essential Duties:
- Work with the Digital Marketing Team to coordinate the dealership’s digital presence and maximize internet lead generation (both email and phone).
- Hands on approach to working with incoming email and phone leads to maximize showroom traffic and vehicle sales. Oversee the performance of BDC staff.
- Motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of BDC staff towards individual and departmental goals.
- Continue to follow up with unsold customers until they either buy a vehicle or exit the market.
- Ensure readiness for all BDC appointments. Make sure Sales management is aware of the days appointments, vehicles of interest are clean, pulled around ahead of time, and a proper turnover to salesperson occurs when customer arrives.
- Ensure that all pertinent lists are worked, including lease terminations and customer lists of customers with above and beyond current incentives.
- Help coordinate the efforts between the BDC and the showroom to maximize opportunities.
- Participate in sales meetings to ensure product and program knowledge, and awareness of current dealership advertising strategy.
- Know and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
- Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits to customers.
