George Washington Academy is currently looking to hire a Reading Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. The Reading Specialist oversees GWA’s Tier 2 instruction for all grade levels. Oversees small group reading intervention for grades K-7 while overseeing part-time reading interventionists. Creates a yearly goal for the Reading Center and tracks its progress. Attends Professional Development and trains interventionists in the Core 95 Intervention Program. Coaches K-3 teachers in effective LETRS implementation. Collects data and distributes data to classroom teachers to improve instructional practices. Willing to lead intervention groups in the reading center when necessary. Leads and carries out professional learning in the areas of literacy and Tier 2. Coordinates GWA afterschool programs. Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher, a current Utah Professional Teaching License, and a Reading Endorsement or LETRS Certification is preferred or willing to work towards. Annual salary starts at $68,603 (includes Legislative Increase). Applicants will need to provide a resume and 3 letters of recommendation.
