Responsibilities
- Design and oversee a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Coordinate event planning, including scheduling, logistics, and resource management.
- Engage with residents to encourage participation in activities that promote socialization and wellness.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and resident needs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through resident feedback and participation metrics.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident engagement levels.
- Foster relationships with families to encourage involvement in community events.
- Stay informed about best practices in recreational therapy and senior care trends.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior care or assisted living environments, preferably in an activities or therapeutic role.
- Strong understanding of recreational therapy principles and event planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with residents, families, and staff members effectively.
- Ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
- Compassionate approach with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications in recreational therapy or related fields are a plus.
