What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scale House Operator position at GEORGETOWN PAPER STOCK?
Georgetown Paper Stock is a leading provider of waste, recycling and document destruction services for the Washington DC area. We operate two recycling plants in Rockville, MD and Baltimore, MD. This position is to run our Baltimore Scale.
As a Scale House Operator, you will be integral to the efficient operation of our recycling facility, reporting directly to the Shipping Manager. Your core skills in shipping and receiving, dispatching and warehouse experience will ensure accurate processing of materials. Additionally, your organizational abilities and proficiency in warehouse management systems will enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities include:
- weighting in and out all trucks (including both inbound and outbound loads)
- entering in the details of each truck load that was picked up into our system
- coordinating where each truck should go (which docks are open)
- coordinating inbound and outbound shipments
- taking container photos
- emailing packing lists and container photos
- miscellaneous administrative tasks such as answering the phones, filing tickets, etc.
Job Requirements:
- strong computer skills
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi task
- works well under pressure
- scale operator experience is a plus (but not required)
- experience in the recycling industry is a plus (but not required)
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred (but not required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
