POSITION: Band Director/Instrumental Music Teacher (Middle/High classes)
LOCATION: Georgetown High School
SUPERVISOR: Principal
ANNUAL SALARY: Salary and benefits per Georgetown Education Association contract.
START DATE: immediately
WORK YEAR: 184 days, the school year & professional development days
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Administer the instrumental music program for grades 7-12 (same building).
Direct 7th grade and 8th grade, and high school bands, and teach high school music electives.
This is an active program with high enrollment/student interest and strong tradition of community support.
Stipend supplement for band/marching band, jazz band, pit orchestra.

Be energetic, motivated individual to work with collaboratively with the grade level team members.
Have a strong background in the content area
Ability to motivate students
Willing to conduct concerts, coordinate performances and competitions
Able to lead performances in parades and at home football games
Able to work cooperatively with other music teachers at the elementary schools and with the choral teacher at the Middle/High School
Be passionate and enthusiastic educator who can motivate students to discover their creative potential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues.
Able to complete required paperwork in a timely fashion
Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate students
Willing to conduct concerts, coordinate performances and competitions

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must.

Per agreement between the Georgetown School Committee and Georgetown Education Association.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
•Holds a current license as a K-12 Music Teacher
•Knowledge of curriculum frameworks
•Able to assess student performance and report progress
•Able to use a variety of instructional techniques to address student needs & differentiate instruction
•Middle & High School music teaching experience preferred
•Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required
