Physical Therapist (0.6, three days per week)

There is an open position in the Georgetown Public Schools. POSITION: Physical Therapist LOCATION: District wide SUPERVISOR: Principal STATUS: 0.6 FTE, three days per week ANNUAL SALARY: Salary and benefits per Georgetown Education Association contract. START DATE: immediately WORK YEAR: 184 days, the school year & professional development days IDEAL CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the educational model of physical therapy as opposed to the medical medical. The physical therapist is expected to provide high-quality services to students based upon individual goals and objectives. This individual will work under the general supervision of the director of student services, building principal, and/or another designated administrator. The individual hired for this position will show strong skills in managing student behavior, both formative and standardized assessment, and evaluation of student progress. Most importantly, the individual will be able to build strong relationships with students in order to assist them with their gross motor deficits, promote social emotional learning, and appreciate diversity. QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with students with special needs in a public school setting preferred. Knowledge of Esped and IEP writing. Knowledge of standardized testing to determine eligibility for services. Ability to direct and provide supervision to paraprofessional staff. Ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues across the district. Strong assessment skills and knowledge of specialized service delivery models. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must. JOB REQUIREMENTS Master’s Degree or Doctorate. MADESE certification as a Physical Therapist.
