Requirements

The Head Women’s Softball Coach is responsible for the recruitment and retention, supervision, and coaching of NCAA Division I women’s softball student-athletes, under the guidelines of the BIG EAST and the NCAA. The incumbent will carry out duties within the stated philosophy of Georgetown athletics and its educational mission, and will adhere to all institutional, BIG EAST and NCAA regulations to ensure the University’s compliance. additional duties include, but are not limited to :

Make the decisions required for successful achievement of department goals and objectives, being accountable for the development of team policy and goals.

Oversee and lead all practices and competitions, including, but not limited to : game preparation, practice planning, individual skills and video sessions, scouting, scheduling, weight training and fitness programs.

Evaluate prospective student-athletes, analyzing and determining their abilities and whether or not they may succeed athletically and academically at Georgetown.

Monitor student-athlete academic performance and conduct, and identifying and addressing student-athlete welfare issues with the Academic Coordinator for Student-Athletes and the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations.

Represent the University in donor / alumni public relations and community programs.

Work with the Associate Athletics Director for Business and Finance to develop an annual budget for the softball program, running the program within budgetary guidelines set forth by the Athletics Department.

Work Interactions

The head women’s softball coach reports to the Director of Athletics (or designee). There is one full time assistant coach that report to the head coach.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred

three years minimum of experience related to duties and responsibilities specified, preferably at college or university at the NCAA Division I level, or equivalent combination of education and experience

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is :

54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
