The Education Coordinator (EC) will primarily provide coordinator duties for the Community-Based Learning, Population Health Scholar Track, Family Medicine Acting Internships and Elective courses in the Department of Family Medicine Medical Student Education, and limited administrative support to the Community Health Division. This role will serve in a collaborative team support capacity for the department's administrative team of Program / Educational Coordinators, Research Assistants / Associates, Residency Coordinator, Residency Administrator, Practice Administrator and their respective divisions. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Attend monthly department meetings, courses, Community Health, and MSE meetings.
  • Coordinate events and prepare grant award applications, grant implementation and programming assistance to department faculty and staff, typing / sending correspondence or reports.
  • Enter data, create publications (fliers, brochures), and provide social media support for the courses and community health division (social media announcement, website, fliers, brochures, annual report etc.).
  • Set up and clear rooms after course or division meetings or sessions, recording meeting minutes or giving reports for course, division, and departmental meetings.
  • Retrieve and deliver mail, order office supplies, coordinate catering needs, complete forms, reserve rooms, edit documents, and handle room booking and space issues.
  • Oversee paper filing, lifting, and the and organization of file storage, office supplies, navigating on and off campus sites.
  • Manage Community-Based Learning and Ambulatory Care course sites involves multiple, community partners, adjunct instructors and faculty off campus. Greeting visitors to the department or departmental events, receiving guest speakers, interacting with speaker and administrative staff.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Medical Student Education Division Program Manager, the Course Director for Community-Based Learning, the Population Health Scholar Track Director, the Community Health Division Director, and the Department Administrator. The incumbent is responsible for coordination, preparation, organization and administration of Community-Based Learning under the direction of the Course Director. Provide general administrative and coordinator support to Course Director, including but not limited to course communication to students and community partners, event planning, student placements, editing documents / presentations, research, writing and editing for publications, scheduling and opening rooms, or other clerical duties as assigned. This includes cross coverage as defined by the Department Administrator, general clerical duties as assigned to support the department of Family Medicine.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Three years in a similar academic position
  • M / S Word, M / S Excel, M / S PowerPoint, M / S Access, other database skills, web interface
  • Must present and maintain a pleasant, professional, and positive image of the department as the representative of the department in event planning, interacting with medical students, residents, fellows, visiting high school students, work-study students, visitors to the department, and faculty and guests at department and division meetings, Grand Rounds and symposium events

    Pay Range :

    The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is :

    47,586.00 - $87,558.13

    Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
