Georgia Army National Guard - Cavalry Scout
As a Cavalry Scout, you’ll act as the eyes and ears on the field, gathering information about enemy positions, vehicles, weapons, and activity. You’ll determine whether to call for reinforcements and when to order a retreat. With the information you’ll gather, commanders can make informed decisions about how to move troops and where and when to attack.
Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED
- Meet Tattoo Guidelines
- No Major Law Violations
- No Medical Concerns
Testing & Certifications
- 22 weeks of One Station Unit Training, which includes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training
- 77 ASVAB Score: Combat (CO)

WHAT IS THE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD?
The Army National Guard is a unique element of the U.S. military. We are a part-time branch that serves BOTH community and country. It is made up of Citizen-Soldiers, who train part-time, a minimum of one weekend per month and two weeks in the summer. This usually amounts to serving roughly 39 days per year. In the Guard, qualified applicants can choose their Military Occupational Specialty to include STEM, Combat Arms, Medical, Admin and Relations, Aviation, Engineer, Intelligence, Logistics, and Mechanical careers. They will learn, be challenged, and gain valuable skills necessary to be successful in life.

THE INCENTIVES:

ELIGIBILITY:
- Be between the ages of 17 and 35 (Up to 41 with an age waiver)
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be a current Junior/Senior in HS, or have earned a HS diploma or GED
- Achieve the minimum score on the ASVAB test
- Meet medical, physical, and moral requirements
- Possibly join as an Officer if you have at least 90 college semester hours or have earned a bachelor’s degree
