Pastoral Care
- Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing use of spiritual disciplines.
- Develop relationships with lost people, pursuing the Great Commission, and helping the church to do the same.
- Provide pastoral care for those under the oversight of his ministry.
- Participate in FBC’s ministry of visitation with the Senior Pastor and other pastoral staff by visiting church members, especially the sick, bereaved, and those who have special needs.
- Build community relationships with Kingdom mindset.
- Under the direction of the Senior Pastor, assist with the preaching ministries of the church by preaching occasionally as requested.
- Plan and direct authentic and engaging multi-generational worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.
- Manage song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists, vocalists, and other presenters.
- Prepare the necessary generational worship and production groups (teams) to carry out worship gatherings; seasonal and church musical productions; and special events to include but not limited to revivals, weddings, funerals, and Young at Heart meetings.
- Manage all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in services.
- Collaborate with ministry staff providing guidance and support for worship in all generational ministries.
- Provide leadership in setting annual goals and objectives for the worship ministry of FBC Barnesville.
- Manage the worship ministry’s budget.
- Supervise and evaluate the work of paid worship staff employees and volunteers.
- Manage the organization of a music library, music material, and other related equipment.
- Serve as a resource person to the church Nominating Committee.
- Attend all church staff meetings, deacons’ meetings, and church conferences.
- Maintain confidentiality with church information, ministry information, and personal information.
- Abide by the policies and procedures of the church, including those outlined in the Personnel Policy Handbook and the Child Protection Policy.
- Preach up to twice a year.
- Assist in the preparation of a sermon series calendar and series creation.
- Fulfill other duties assigned by our Senior Pastor as needed to help build-up our team and strengthen relationships.
- Meets the biblical qualifications of a pastor (1 Tim. 3:1-6, Titus 1:6-9 & 1 Pet. 5:1-3).
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
- A clearly understood calling to the Gospel ministry.
- Bachelor’s degree in music, theology, or other worship related ministry. A seminary degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Music Ministry or Worship Leadership role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in playing at least one instrument and possesses strong vocal skills.
- Knowledge of different styles of music.
- A heart for the spiritual growth and discipling of those under their pastoral leadership.
- Experience with the use of technology in worship such as lighting, sound systems, video projection, and worship software.
- Ability to perform pastoral responsibilities such as preaching, teaching, and providing spiritual guidance and support to church members.
- A team player that collaborates well with other church staff members and supports all other church ministries.
