Associate Pastor of Students (Full Time)
Job Description
Educational Requirement: The applicant must have the minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a
Bible college or seminary.
Experience Requirement: It is preferred that he have a minimum of three years of ministry
experience in working with children and/or youth.
I. In our church we believe that the Associate Pastor / Minister to Children and Youth is a person who
is called by God to nurture the spiritual growth and development of children and youth from birth
through 12th grade. He will also work in cooperation with the Senior Pastor, other staff and the deacons as we seek to build strong marriages, parent-child relationships, and families within our church family.
II. This person must be personally dedicated to Jesus Christ as his Savior and the Lord of his life, must
be baptized (by immersion) as a follower of Jesus Christ, must support the tenets of the Baptist Faith
and Message(2000 edition), and must meet the Biblical qualifications found in First Timothy, chapter
and Titus, chapter 1.
III. He must be faithful to the church and committed to the overall excellence of the church ministries
by providing educational opportunities, ministry, counseling, and outreach.
IV. He will be responsible to the Senior Pastor for planning, coordinating, and implementing church
ministries and activities as assigned. The Senior Pastor, Associate Pastors, and other staff members
will function as a team for the glory of God and for the edification of the body of believers.
V. The Associate Pastor / Minister to Children and Youth is a full-time position with financial
Compensation Commensurate With Education And Experience.
VI. All activities and programs are to be coordinated with the Senior Pastor and also with the
appropriate ministry teams/committees.
VII. He will cooperate with other staff and elected church leaders to meet the needs of the total church.
General Responsibilities
Maintain personal habits of discipleship and spiritual growth in order to:
Stay informed about cultural trends and challenges to Christian living (e.g., social media, non-Biblical sexuality, etc.) of which parents and children should be aware. In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, provide age-appropriate informational and discipleship training for children, youth, and parents regarding a Biblical response to cultural trends and pitfalls.
Conduct personal and business affairs in such a way as to never cause embarrassment to the Kingdom of God and Eastside Baptist Church.
Provide theological direction in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition), and under the authority of the Senior Pastor of EBC.
Operate within the parameters of the most current editions of the EBC Constitution and By-Laws and Policies and Procedures, and under the authority of the Senior Pastor.
