What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Director position at Georgia Baptist Mission Board?
Requirements
- Have a passionate personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Teachable and sensitive to God’s leadership.
- Collegiate or seminary degree preferred but willing to consider a co-vocational person with a heart for youth ministry.
- Experience in a successful student ministry leadership position.
- Called by God to serve in the youth ministry.
- Meets the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1 and Titus 1:5-9.
- In agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as well as Rosemont Baptist Church’s Constitution, by-laws, and vision.
- Lead, plan, and implement Sunday mornings’ and Wednesday nights’ lessons and activities.
- Be the leader of the youth committee.
- Able to communicate effectively with youth, parents, staff, and church body.
- Oversee weekly services and ministry opportunities
- Connect the youth to the overall life of the church and the church to the needs of the youth.
- Actively participate in activities that provide spiritual growth and fellowship for our youth. These can include community outreach opportunities, school activities, camps, retreats, and community services.
- Train youth in discipleship, evangelism, and mission work.
- Connect and partner with parents in the involvement of the overall spiritual life and growth of our youth.
- Administer the business affairs of the youth ministry including budgets, overseeing expenditures, projecting needed purchases, and maintaining and caring for all youth supplies and equipment.
- Work with pastor, staff, and leadership to promote the overall vision of the church
- Perform duties and tasks requisitions by Senior Pastor.
- Develop strategies to visit middle schools and high schools in our area.
- Oversee a plan to transition graduating high school seniors into college into college ministry.
