Employment for the selected candidate(s) is contingent upon the successful completion of a GBI background investigation including criminal, credit and driver's history checks, polygraph examination, fingerprinting and drug screening.
The GBI follows the Federal statute regarding illegal drug use and is a drug-free workplace. Although some states have legalized recreational drug use, applicants who currently use illegal drugs or controlled substances will be subject to disqualification from employment with the GBI.
Job Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and mentor a team of information security professionals. This includes establishing and communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results and coaching staff.
- Promote a safe, secure, and legal work environment by ensuring adherence to agency policies and through the development and coordination of related procedures and productivity standards.
- Support the financial integrity of agency by forecasting information technology operational requirements, scheduling IT expenditures, and analyzing and resolving variances.
- Develop and manage comprehensive information security programs aligned with organizational goals. Collaborate with IT leadership, legal, and other departments to ensure a cohesive security strategy.
- Coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, documentation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of State and Federal information technology compliance requirements and the latest security trends and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Knowledge of information security principles, frameworks, and technologies.
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational risks in a large enterprise multi-vendor IT environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. Occasionally lifting to 15 lbs. unassisted may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
This position requires the incumbent to work onsite in an office setting which includes shared office space with other employees. After 6 months, teleworking options may be available.
NOTE : This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver's license is required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
IT Program Manager 1- (Pay Grade : O; Job Code : ITM050)
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of related experience, which includes two (2) years of management / supervisory experience.
IT Program Manager 2 - (Pay Grade : P; Job Code : ITM051)
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of related experience, which includes three (3) years of management / supervisory experience.
Note : An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed.
