Community Assistance Center's (CAC) Marketing & Communications Manager, in partnership with CEO and other team members, will develop the strategic marketing & communications plan and implementation for the organization. This role will be responsible for all communications and public relations messaging to consistently articulate CAC’s mission and to build awareness of CAC in the community at large and within core constituent groups.
To that end, the Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for telling CAC’s compelling story to diverse groups of stakeholders including donors, volunteers, partners, and others through various touch points. In addition to external outreach, the role will work closely with department managers to identify their individual needs within and across departments.

In addition to external outreach, the role will work closely with department managers to identify their individual needs within and across departments.
Core Responsibilities
Planning
- Develop the annual marketing and communication strategy across all audiences and channels in collaboration with CAC team leaders.
- Create and implement a content strategy that will address and achieve targets as determined by management
- Serve as the lead for content creation, marketing communications and web content development that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action
- Develop messaging and branding content.
- Ensure that all content conforms to and is grammatically and stylistically aligned to core mission and brand standards
- Develop method to measure effectiveness of communications and marketing campaigns on stakeholder engagement, make recommendations for improvement as appropriate based on analytics
- Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all communication platforms (print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to the website, newsletters, brochures, flyers and social media)
- Manage vendor process and quality service delivery including design, production and mailing services for newsletters, appeals, invitations, signage, displays, posters, tickets and other collateral materials within budget and on time
- Develop and deliver marketing and fundraising campaigns to targeted audiences
- Update CAC general & program brochures, media kit, key messages, and fact sheets as needed
- Secure internal and external success stories and any other relevant CAC news to amplify to core constituent groups
- Create and manage marketing and communications budget E
- stablish, maintain and manage relationships with all media contacts
- Train and supervise communication volunteers where utilized
- Coordinate photography for events, activities and for use in publications. Ensure appropriate releases are signed and filed
- Maintain graphics and photographic files on CAC’s server Create presentation materials when needed
- Attend staff meetings and get input on group activities that can be shared out to core audiences
- Collaborate and participate in outreach and fundraising activities each year
- Submits monthly activities report to Director of Advancement
- This position supervises one communications assistant.
- There is the possibility of growing a team in the future.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5-7 years of marketing and communications experience, ideally in an “in-house” leadership role within a complex (number and variety of constituents) nonprofit entity
- A proven track record creating great content and copy.
- You have stellar writing skills, a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
- Experience with managing website content
- Experience with crafting and updating social media content, newsletters content, and donor communications
- Excellent time management with the ability to juggle numerous priorities and changing deadlines
- Operates with a high level of personal responsibility and optimism, adheres to high ethical standards and demonstrates sound judgment
- Able to form and nourish relationships with executive management, department heads, volunteers and all segments of the community
- Conveys a positive image and professional attitude regarding the organization and the not-for-profit sector while demonstrating a deep commitment to and belief in CAC’s mission
- Maintains a flexible work schedule.
- Demonstrates commitment to continued professional growth and development
- Strong PC skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Constant Contact, Canva, Wordpress and Social Media Platforms.
- Adobe Creative Suite / Photoshop is a plus.
